Vicor’s new VI BRICK AC Front End module Vicor’s new VI BRICK® AC Front End moduledelivers an isolated, PFC regulated, 330W 48V output in a low profile module only 9.55mm in height.  This  AC–DC converter which operates over the universal AC input range of 85-264 V, provides high efficiency and a power conversion density of 121 W/in3 (7.5W/cm3) or 54 W/in3 for a complete supply that includes all necessary components including hold-up capacitance.

This integrated solution streamlines your design and can help reduce your time to market.  The AC Front End’s comprehensive feature set includes:

  • Small Package and Profile
    • 3.75” x 1.91” X 0.38” (95,3 X 48,6 X 9,55 mm)
  • Integrated rectification, filtering and transient protection
    • enables you to configure a complete front end system that meets IEC 61000-3-2 harmonic noise and Class B EMI conducted emission limits
  • Agency approvals and certifications in place
    • facilitates faster design and product delivery
  • Active PFC (Power Factor Correction)
    • meets EN 61000-3-2 and saves energy by matching voltage and current sinusoidal waveforms to minimize energy loss in high voltage transmission and reducing demand on power generators
  • Output: 48 Vdc isolated, regulated
  • Power: 330 W over the entire input voltage range
  • Peak efficiency: greater than 92%

The AC Front End’s significant efficiency performance is powered by Vicor’s proprietary DC-ZVS (Zero-Voltage Switching) Adaptive Cell™ topology.  The topology allows for high efficiency across high line and low line conditions.
